Getting Into the Business of Shooting People (Camera Style)

Hello World!  So it's been a little while since my last posting as life has been extremely busy (and because I don't consistently have epic thoughts to share with the world).  Well, what's happened lately?  In the not too distant past, my good friends Drew & Lacey were kind enough to let me take a shot at this "engagement photo" thing.  As you may have been able to gather from my blog history, I enjoy viewing the world through a camera lens.  Well up until this point, I had not had much previous experience shooting people (with my camera...or with a gun).  You see, people are tricky.  They move, they have personality and they actually care about how the photos turn out, unlike, say the photo I took of the bridge.  That bridge could care less about how the photo turned out.  Anyhow, I had an absolute blast with this photo shoot.  The majority of the shots were taken in 30 something degree weather, but we still managed some pretty convincing smiles.  So I think I will try to make this shooting of people (again...with my camera) a re-occurring thing.  Please take a look at the photos below.  If you know anyone who may need engagement shots, wedding shots, shots of their kids/family/pets, please tell them about me and direct them to this blog.  I do not have a website set up yet or any finalized rates but am working on putting this all together...until then, I will continue winging it :)  I will still be maintaining my full time job here in Alabama (Mon-Fri), but am more than willing to travel on the weekends if needed.

My Beautiful Niece Lily

I was home for Christmas this 2009 for a full week!  It it always good to be home with family as I do not get to do it often.  Well quite an eventful week it turned out to be.  My brother and sister-in-law had another beautiful baby girl (Daisy) who was born 3 1/2 month premature.  She was 1lb 4oz and 11inches at birth.  We are praying for her health and safety as she will be spending the next many months in an incubator.  With all of this happening my parents and I had the chance to babysit Daisy's big sister, Lily for a few days.  She was such a joy and full of life.  Anyhow, I of course had to pull out the camera and take a ton of pictures...below are just a couple that I have recently worked on since being back in Birmingham...
